Hallo Brian,
have you got an Opel Astra or a Vauxhall astra?
I myself drive a 2003 2.2 liter Vauxhall Astra Automatic in blue which I imported from England five years ago
It was to that time a pretty cheap way of getting to an Astra.
After a few changes on the headlights, a new set of tyres I managed to get it through the German TÜV.

Of course it's got now a German number plate,
